Continuing to provide milk in Syria

Posted in Fund Disbursement

Viva Palestina Malaysia's project to provide formula milk to babies and toddlers living in camps in Syria continues.

We have delivered 150 cans of milk to Qudsaya a village area 8 km away from Damascus with 4000 Palestinian families , all of them originally from Yarmouk. Our partner ,the Charitable Association for Palestinian Relief , runs a service center there. Qudsaya was under heavy bombardment which destroyed the hospital and public facilities, and the siege had cut off food and medical supplies.

The weather in that area is very cold , at -3 degrees Celsius during the night.

We also received more photos of our milk project in Khan Elshayh and Neirab camps.

Syria update Part 1

Bless the children of Syria. Viva Palestina Malaysia distributed 900 cans of formula milk to babies and toddlers at AlNeirab camp ,east of Aleppo. Aleppo was one of the biggest industrial cities in Syria and in one of the photos you can see an aerial view of the warehouses that are now filled with refugees.

Our partner in Syria is the Charitable Association for Palestinian Relief - alkhayriah.

Syria update Part 2

Khan Al Shieh camp , west Damascus was under heavy bombardment of missiles and barrel bombs killing civilians including babies. The road to the camp was called Death Road due to the number of people killed on the road as they tried to leave the camp. Alhamdulillah Viva Palestina Malaysia received permission to enter and deliver 500 cans of milk to the residents. They have requested a medical week like we have done in Yarmouk , as they have had no access to doctors or medical facilities for a long time.

At Yarmouk camp ,with our partners the Charitable Association for Palestinian Relief and the Palestine Red Crescent we have held 4 medical clinic weeks which has helped a total of 5358 patients .

Thanks to the generous donation of ticket sales of Samah Sabawi's award winning play Tales of A City by the Sea, we are able to expand Viva Palestina Malaysia's Winter Relief program - today we visited the home of the AlShowbaki family in Khanyounis to distribute heaters and blankets and assess what improvements can be done to their home . Elsewhere in Gaza we have distributed blankets ,warm clothes , food and heaters while repairing homes to protect them from the wintry chill.
