Thank you donors who have contributed to this campaign. We are still in need of more funds as there are thousands of families in Gaza who are in need of food aid, especially during this Ramadhan month.

You may contribute RM200 per family, or you may also contribute ANY AMOUNT. As these families are entitled to receive zakat, you may channel your zakat payment to this campaign.

Together we can help to ease their sufferings.

Scholarship for Palestine students

Targeted Area: Gaza Strip.
Beneficiaries: 60 students.

1. Education is one of VPM’s 4 strategic objectives. It has taken up 35% (RM4.5 million) of our funding to Palestine.

2. In 2013, VPM refurbished 11 schools in Palestine, costing RM1.7 million.

3. The Khazanah Asia (Palestine) Scholarship program was mooted in collaboration with VPM and began in 2013. This equivalent of an Ivy League scholarship now funds 5-6 Palestinian student from Gaza, West Bank and the Diaspora every year.

4. Very few if any NGO provide aid to students to continue with their tertiary education. VPM began our scholarship program for needy students in 8 universities in Gaza from 2014 with an initial funding of RM300,000 provided by Khazanah Nasional. This program has continued every year and a total of 1,600 scholarships has been disbursed.

5. VPM’s 6th KL Palestine Film Festival on 10 Dec 2017, raised more funds for scholarship program.

Field visits for Micro projects that supported by Viva Palestina Malaysia.

Since 2009 Viva Palestina Malaysia supported more than 80 of micro projects in Gaza Strip by giving small loans for poor families, these projects changed the life for benefited families and increased their incomes and gave them the chanced for depending on themselves instead of depending of humanitarian helps.

Where in 2017 unemployment rate reached to 41.7% in general and among youth it reached 66.8%, poverty rate 65%, deep poverty 30%, the rate of lack and absent in food security 72%, the huge increasing in the number of graduated students per year, all of these reasons guide us to work more and focus on supporting these kinds of micro projects by providing work chances through enabling unemployed persons from start micro projects by using micro loans system (Halal).
